Cast out of the Ninth Gate, he was hurled from Overworld with unsurpassed force. The Creators condemned him to live out the life on Mother Earth as a parasite...a maggot...a man. He found sanctuary in hidden caverns near Shangri-La. This was where he conceived and wrote the Book of Pangaea. The book was an encyclopedia of spells and a comprehensive guide to the creation and inevitable demise of Mother Earth. The fallen one's final entry in the Book of Pangaea was the Darkness Invocation. A spell that if performed properly, would invoke a person's inner darkness in exchange for their soul and create a temporary portal to Limbo. For his actions, the Creators hurled the fallen One deep into Mother Earth's core, through the Seven Gates of Underworld.
In Overworld he was a Creator. On Earth he was the world's first alchemist. In the deepest level of Underworld, he is the God of Hate and he has devised a way to see what is happening on Mother Earth through the eyes of the dead.
Thousands of years later, bottom dwellers now refer to the fallen one as Nosversatanas (nahss-vair-say-ta-nahss). They congregate around him like sheep in a herd after he just slaughtered the wolf. Over the centuries he has accumulated a massive army of followers that he calls The Infinite Rebellion.
Seven years ago a famed escape artist, master of deception and Jack of all trades traveled the world in search of new magic. With the help of his spirit guide, Papa Vicious; Dante Darknite stumbled upon the Book of Pangaea. After years of deciphering the ancient language etched into the book's pages, Dante was able to attempt the Darkness Invocation. With no way of knowing what kind of power the invocation would release, Dante arrogantly performed the spell on stage in front of thousands of people including his family. Dante disappeared and the venue was engulfed in black flames.
After a worldwide manhunt was conducted to find Dante, his body was never recovered and neither has his family's sanity. His eldest son Dominic found his father's journal and is currently retracing his footsteps. Dante's widow lost her mind and was committed into Brickview Psychiatric. Their son Damien moved in with his brother Dominic's mother and now suffers from violent blackouts and lucid dreams of Nosversatanas. Damien has no idea of the world of chaos he's about to be thrust into when Dominic returns to Ashland with the Book of Pangaea.
